I received a phone call yesterday afternoon, it was the city police. The dispatcher tells me she has our daughter, Cristina, on the other line. Apparently, Cristina called to turn herself in, and would you believe it–the city police did not have her in their system as a runaway! Boy, was I perturbed! I was in the station the day prior giving them a photo of her, and they have no record? Were they even looking?

Apparently, the State Troopers had the case and spelled her name wrong, so it was not matching up with the city police records. It is a good thing my faith was in the Lord and not the law–she may have never called! God is awesome and our daughter is home safe and sound. She said she would never run away again.  :)

I did update this tidbit of important information in my column, Scripture & Reflection. I was actually writing the column when the police dispatcher called me. Interesting. This incident just shows me that God is faithful, and He really does prepare us for what lies ahead without us even realizing it (at the time).

Thank you, Jesus!
