The book behind the study:God-given Foods Eating Plan - The approach of this book is to study different foods and food groups, with a chapter devoted to each major classification of foods. First the Biblical evidence is considered, then the modern-day scientific research is reviewed. Foods are then classified as "God-given foods" and "non-God-given foods." The main point will be a healthy eating plan is composed of a variety of God-given foods and avoids non-God-given foods.  –Gary F. Zeolla

We will study:
Plant Foods, Animal Foods, Sweeteners & Deserts
Glycemic Index, Hormones, Exercise, Clean Eating
Dangerous Juices, Allergies, Portion Size calorie-dense Foods
Metabolism, Weight Lose, Supplements, Hydration
Healthy Children, Active Seniors, Nursing Moms
Recipes and much more.

A Bountiful Harvest
•   Juice truth: Our bodies are 80% water yet we are feeding ourselves and our children fruit drinks which in some cases has as much sugar or more then does soda pop.
•   Are you getting enough fibre in your diet?  Do you know how much you need in your diet and the diet of your children?  Where is fibre found in our foods?
•   For the first time in history children may not survive their parents because of overeating disorders. 1  We are well fed, but are we really eating healthy foods?
•   God-given red meat is not high in fat.  And meat that is not high in fat is not associated with an increased cancer risk.  In fact, it can even be associated with a reduced cancer risk. 2
•   Recent studies have found that much of the produce sold in groceries stores is contaminated with pesticides. But these same studies have also found that some organic produce can also have pesticide residues on it.  However, there is a big difference in the frequency and amount of pesticides found. 2
•   Milk is clearly a Biblical food, and it is very nutritious.  But there is conflicting evidence about milk’s benefits and controversy over its consumption. 2
•   The next question to address is, is it okay to cheat on occasion and consume non-God-given foods? 2
•   Does the size of my waist matter?  Where do my children fall on the BMI chart?  Why is only eating 2 or 3 meals a day not good for weight control and weight loss?  What is a healthy fat for me to consume?  Fresh, frozen or canned?
To be placed on the contact list for September, please contact Tina Bell at 787-5064 or email tmbell48@hotmail.com.  I am thinking a Thursday...let me know if AM or PM works better for you and an alternative day if Thursday’s do not work.  There will be toys available for children to play with.

According to what I have read, God is a deity in theistic and deistic religions and other belief systems, representing either the sole deity in monotheism, or a principal deity in polytheism. God is most often conceived of as the supernatural creator and overseer of the universe. Theologians have ascribed a variety of attributes to the many different conceptions of God. The most common among these include omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence, omnibenevolence (perfect goodness), divine simplicity, and eternal and necessary existence. God has also been conceived as being incorporeal, a personal being, the source of all moral obligation, and the "greatest conceivable existent". These attributes were all supported to varying degrees by the early Jewish, Christian and Muslim theologian philosophers, including Maimonides, Augustine of Hippo, and Al-Ghazali, respectively. Many notable medieval philosophers developed arguments for the existence of God.

I think it's important to eat healthy foods and not be tempted by bad foods. I also think it is up to parents to teach their children what foods are good and what foods are bad. And to teach them how to eat healthy and how to eat the right proportions.
